And I agree, it is broad and there are so many different areas of UX.
Coming from a design background I find the wire-framing and prototyping aspects a lot easier however the initial research of a project is where I get a lot of my ideas for features to add in or not use at all.
Planning out user journeys has become more interesting to me recently, just to see the many different ways users can approach a task. It broadens the way you think about how the user will interact with your product.
